Our 
Story

At the heart of Oxer Hill Farm are owners Rena and Dan, a dedicated team whose shared passion for horses and thoughtful stewardship shape the spirit of this equestrian community.

 

You will sometimes find Pickles their beloved mini mule strolling around checking on his equine pals and batting his lashes in hopes of stealing your heart (and another carrot).

As a young girl, Rena would eagerly pick up any and every ride on her friend’s available horses, dreaming of one day having her own. Years later, she began taking hunter/jumper lessons, started showing - quickly falling in love with the sport. In 2015, that lifelong dream came full circle when she purchased property in Clearview, WA and built what is now Oxer Hill Farm.

 

Dan, a CPA and accomplished endurance athlete, had previously competed in five Ironman triathlons, over a dozen marathons, and numerous long-distance cycling events. But after meeting Rena, he traded in his running shoes for paddock boots and embraced the equestrian life wholeheartedly. Today, he manages Oxer Hill Farm full-time—overseeing everything from operations and bookkeeping to doting on the horses with genuine care.

 

Together, Rena and Dan have created a boutique barn that reflects their values: a place where horses and riders can thrive in a well-maintained, peaceful environment. They believe the barn should always feel like an oasis—welcoming, fun, and filled with a shared passion for learning and continuous improvement, every step of the way.
